Debby Fisher

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our friend and colleague, Debby Fisher.

Debby passed away on January 1, 2024, surrounded by her family in Ontario.

Debby was an amazing individual who brought incredible energy to every endeavour she pursued – an energy matched by few.

What a huge champion and icon for skating development she was, impacting all levels of skating, from grassroots to elite.

She left an indelible mark on everything she touched, and her legacy is carried forward through every bit of instructional techniques and approaches to teaching skating that she shared with so many.

She was a driving force in so many ways for so many young lives as they carved a skating pathway for themselves, and her skills and expertise with youth, especially younger skaters, was unrivalled in our experience.

We take comfort in the fact that much of who she was and what she sought to accomplish is carried on through our present and continued work.

You were truly someone special, who made your presence known in so many ways, the ripples you made in the pool radiated for miles and lifted others up, and you made a difference in the lives of so many.

We had the great pleasure of working alongside you for over a decade and we cannot believe that you are gone. You will be missed by all, but there are few who can say they lived as full a life as you did.

Thank you for always being so strong.
